The Christian message of God’s grace, love, and forgiveness is the foundation of all learning. The Pre-Kindergarten program at Faith Preschool Academy encourages children to grow in all developmental areas while experiencing God’s love. On a daily basis there is a Bible lesson, carried out through music & movement, language development, motor skills activities, creative arts, social/emotional development, sensory exploration, and outdoor play. Most importantly, the teachers at Faith Preschool Academy incorporate Christ’s love into their lesson plans and demonstrate His love throughout each and every day.
Safe, Secure, & Nurturing Environment
A child’s feeling of independence and social interaction with others is what the Pre-Kindergarten room is all about. Our Pre-K program revolves around the children learning to help themselves and getting along with others.
During the course of the day, children are encouraged to make choices for themselves, cooperate with others as well as listen and follow directions. During the course of the program the classroom teachers lead the children in small and large group activities, such as movement, read-a-loud stories, circle time and art activities. The children are encouraged to make friends, share and communicate with their classmates. The children are also prompted to use the bathroom on their own, although assistance is given if necessary. In preparation for the Jr-K classroom, the Pre-K work on their hand writing skills, colors, shapes and numbers. Literacy is introduced with the letter of the week. This also gives each teacher the opportunity to work one-on-one with each student.

In the Pre-K program each child’s developmental growth and development are assessed on an ongoing basis. Each child has an Individual Child Profile which consists of anecdotal notes, observations, and work samplings. Parent-Teacher Conferences are held for each child twice yearly. The teachers use the information collected in the Child Profile to individualize instruction so that the growth of each child is maximized. The preschool curriculum is one that teachers love.
